This particular problem was bothering me for some time, after I upgraded from IOS 9 to IOS 11 on a new 6s Plus I recently purchased.
The iPhone itself kept unlocking at random times. I looked over at the Apple Support forum to find others having the same problem. Apple shuts down posts older than a month old so thought I would post it here.
Somebody said the solution was to reset your settings, and it worked for them. That got me wondering what in settings would cause the phone to do this? After searching for a long time I finally found the culprit.
It’s a new feature called “Raise To Wake”, that you have to disable in settings. It unlocks your phone every time the phone senses movement. This was a particular annoyance when riding a bike or listening to music.
~ Problem solved!
