Hi,

Over the years I've had three pairs of bluetooth headphones that support dual connection. They seem to do it by pairing to both devices and then manually diverting the sound to the chosen device.

However this often means that I'll play something on my iPhone and I'll hear nothing because my Mac is claiming control over the output. I'll have to either disconnect the Mac from the headphones app on my iPhone or via the Mac itself.

I've sometimes noticed this with my AirPods too, where the mac will prevent auto switching from happening even though no apps that would need it are running.

Anyone know how to solve this? I thought to use a Shortcut that would enable/disable Bluetooth when the Mac wakes/sleeps but I don't see a way to automate this (I guess via Automator?)
