I use a Mac Mini as my Plex server and player. When using the remote it opens iTunes. Before high Sierra, I was able to fix it but with the update its back. I don't want to stop the mac from accepting remote commands because I use it with Plex, I simply want to prevent it from loading iTunes. I even uninstalled iTunes but it just comes back. I can do without iTunes entirely on my Mac Mini.

Any solutions?

It's worse than that, even if you disable the remote in System Preferences, it STILL loads itunes/turns the screen on/starts playing music. When I'm trying to control my AppleTV...

EDIT: ok this fixed it for me, https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...isabled-in-high-sierra.2073054/#post-25136915 , but will be of no help for you since you still want to control Plex. On the other hand, in iTunes I do see under Devices tab in settings something about paired remotes, though I'm not sure if this is about a remote app or an actual remote.
