I just got a mac, and have switched from windows. I have a fairly large music collection, all in .mp3. I was wondering what the best way to handle this would be. In itunes, if I import the library, it duplicates it into the /music/itunes folder. I see this as being pointless because then I end up having two copies of everything, also, whenever i play anything in itunes, i think it adds it into that library. any suggestions? i know im a noob but im trying to learn haha

If it duplicates it, delete the original. Also, when you started i think you must have pressed 'allow itunes to sort my music', there must be a way to uncheck that option. Good luck!

I hated this option too, in the beginning. But now I am happy with it. Whenever I have a mp3, I play it in Itunes, and delete the original. I like it a lot, it saves work.
