How to switch to a different HD for Time Machine

Hi,

I just got my second external HD and I'm planning to use it as a backup drive using Time Machine, the thing is that I'm currently using another External HD with Time Machine (which is unplugged all the time except when I decide to back-up) and I was wondering what would be the best way to tell Time Machine to backup in the new drive instead?

What do I do with the existing drive the next time I connect it?

What is the proper way to do something like this?
