Hi

I want to use my i7 as MediaPlayer. So I've connected to iMac video out a Plasma TV. There a way tp switch off only the iMac monitor when I'm wathing some video on my TV? this is a very big problem!

There is no easy way, unless you are running Windows on the iMac, in which case it is very easy. You'll have to settle for turning the brightness all the way down
 
I'm using Mac OS X. There must be a way to do that! it is impossible to watch a movie with the huge iMac display on
 
What app are you using to play video? Some apps have an option to black out the screen not in use... for example, VLC: (see screenshot)

I use Boxee. I don't think thath Boxee have this features. Its really strange because Boxee is a software written specifically for wathing TV shows and movies on external display..
