I don't know why Apple did this.

Let me get this straight.. When I get the new iPhone X, I won't be able to sync with iTunes, and i'll have to redownload all those apps again? That will take forever on my **** slow internet. what about the app data?

What about my old iPads and iPod touches? I have old apps I love still on them, and I might have to reset/restore... Now I can't get my old apps back?

I prefer iPhone backups on my computer, How can I keep doing this for all my devices?

To add a wrinkle, any app that is not updated to 64-bit (not updated since 2015) will not work on iOS 11 (and the iPhone X).
