How to sync maccbook Pro with itunes PC

I have itunes on my PC. just bought a MacbookPro -w/Lion 10.7.5
We dont have high speed inet, need to transfer all contacts, files to Macbook from PC itunes.

Is it possible to sync my itunes library on PC to my Mac such that any updates can be sync between the two libraries automatically?

a bit unclear about contacts, i don't think iTunes deals with that.

Personally I prefer the External drive option because it's quicker in my opinion.

If you are transferring more than iTunes then you can consider windows migration assistant, I don't personally like this option because it may migrate data that may seem useless on a mac.

I would rather just copy the rest of the stuff onto an external HDD too..

I just last week transferred my entire iTunes library, including 12,000+ songs, from a Windows Laptop to Macbook pro via Home network sharing in iTunes - it took around 12 hours to complete, but everything is there ...including the 1170 duplicate songs I still need to trim - more's the pity.

Contacts, Calendar, etc will appear when you connect and backup your iPhone\iPad to the Mac.
