How to tell if phone is actually unlocked?

i jailbroke using spirit on a 3.13 old bootrom 3GS.

i installed ultrasnow .93.

i have no other active sim card to actually test and im listing it for sale so i need to be sure.

all i have is a wifi connection useable on the device currently since my regular sim was deactivated when my iphone 4 got activated

Pop in a tmobile sim

dont have one...any other way?

i assume if i can use cydia and actually install the ultrasnow repo than it essentially gurantees the phone is unlocked

just tried a buddies t-mobile sim , but it didnt recognize it. the phone just said no sim even after i insterted it.

his sim is like 8 years old though and looked kinda ratty.

any ideas?

Get a new sim

Try a pay as you go SIM from T-Mobile.
