How to tell Siri to check for new email?

I tried:

"Check for new email"

"Refresh my email"

"Do I have any new email"

It doesn't refresh my inbox. I have my mail set to not manually fetch or push, to save battery life. How to I make siri check my mail?

I haven't found a good way. She will tell about new email if it's on the phone but she won't refresh it.

I'd be curious to learn a way too though.

You can't.

Siri is quite limited. Just about the only thing I find she does well, consistently, is set reminders.

I think he just wants a "refresh" function. It wouldn't have to actually "look" at your mail, just check the server for anything new.
