How to test coverage of GPS app before buying? Is Navigon the best?

I plan for a road trip across Europe (Spain, Andorra, France, Germany, Poland etc) later in the month.

So after some research I am guessing TomTom or Navigon are going to serve me best.

What I would like to try before I buy is how good is the coverage of some specific areas that I will be going to, for example Andorra or Southern France's or Polish rural roads...

Is there a way to preview, what would you recommend?
