I've done this once before but it was many many years ago and i'm not 100% on how I did it as it's been so long.

Basically back then I updated a free app on my iPhone but the update screwed it and i updated OTA so i had nothing to revert back to. My wife had the old version on her iPhone so i basically exported her app to my phone, when i opened the app I (with her OK obviously) signed in to that app as her user ID & it let me use it on my phone.

FFWD to today.
I have a works phone. The battery on my iPhone 6S is pretty terrible but the battery on this works iPhone 7 is decent. Thing is, the Apple ID password isn't given to me.

All I would like on the phone is Strava & Relive for cycling in my own time and Google Drive & Whatsapp for work.

I was having trouble exporting WhatsApp so i tried out Google Drive. Put it on the new phone, opened it up, it asked me to sign in under the Apple ID that the .ipa was linked to. I cancelled it thinking ok everything seems fine, i'll work on this Whatsapp problem. I deleted Google Drive.

I finally worked around the Whatsapp issue, had all 4 apps put on the works iPhone.

However when i go to open each app, the app tries to open up but now it just goes straight back to the home screen. No prompt to sign in under the suitable Apple ID.

I have the latest version of iTunes and I have a paid version of iMazing in case that helps.
