I've just picked up a Macbook Air today and I'm looking to transfer everything from my current Macbook Pro over to it.

However, I have no idea how to go about doing this. When I try and even setup up my Air I forces me to do internet recovery and I can't even connect to my school's wifi because it needs me to have an OS running to set up my user account.

What do I do? I can't even use my Macbook Air right now because of the lack of OS installed.

After I get it up and running, how do I move everything over?

Once you have OS X installed on your Air, you can use Migration Assistant, which is found in OS X Utilities, to move everything from one computer to the other. All you need is an ethernet cable.

The trick is to get OS X running on the Air. Since you need to connect to the internet to use Internet Recovery, you'll have ask the experts at your school.

Check the tool in the menu while doing internet recovery, you may just need your MAC address for the wifi. You can also browse from here I believe.
