How to transfer music from ipod to macbook?

Wouldn't it be easier to just save your current list(s) from your old (whatever you had before you got your new macbook) to an external hard drive compatable with
, then upload your list. Though, I am possibly wrong, I'm learning "new" tricks after a reset of everything recently. What I did was get a exteral hard drive (compatable with
and backed everything up, though, thankfully... in my case... it wasn't necessary, at the moment of my error, at least, but it wouldn't hurt just to have it, it sounds like your situation is a bit more technical. Good luck!
