I recently bought my wife the new MacBook, how can I transfer the photos from her old G3 iBook? The iBook does not migration assistant.

connecting the two via ethernet would be the optimum way.

you navigate to your-user-name>pictures and copy the iphoto library folder to the other computer.

- target disk mode (easiest & fastest)
- IP over Firewire (fast)
- Ethernet (slower because the ibook still has 100Mb)
- WiFi (slowest)
- external backup to USB HDD/ stick or CD/ DVD device
