How to transfer purchased music back to Itunes

I have an iPod Nano and recently lost all my music on Itunes but it is on my iPod. How do I put all the songs back onto iTunes? I purchased the music.

If you purchased all the music, simply connect the iPod to iTunes, then use "Transfer Purchased Content from iPod" from the File Menu (or one of them). After a few minutes, your library will be full again.

it wont delete my songs on there because there are no songs in the itunes right now, like wont it wipe it clean?
