I only want to transfer my SMS, I do not want to transfer other files. How do I do that?

Please help me, I would like to save some of my most precious messages. Thank you.

Im no expert and there might be a better way, but some random suggestions to make sure you get at least something without a total loss: take a screen shot of each message using the sleep/home button combo or copy and paste each message to email and then email them to yourself or if you have iMessage on your computer there may be a library/data file with those messages...good luck.

you should try either Wondershare MobileTrans or BackupTrans.

BackupTrans only allow backup and restoration of sms only, no attachments in the sms, and cheaper.

MobileTrans backs up both sms and its attachments, as well as other things, but more expensive.

Last time I looked iBackupBot allows you to edit a backup so you can selectively restore or add additional items to a backup.

Plan B: Are you able to restore a full backup of the old phone onto the new one and then delete the stuff you don't want from the new phone?

That would literally take years. I send over 1.000 messages per day lol

Just back up to iCloud and deselect everything. When you transfer phones, just restore from that particular backup.
