How to turn cell services off completely?

I don't have cell phone service at home, so I turn cell data off, but it still says Searching... in the top left. I'm paranoid and feel like this is using up battery life. Should I just not worry about it or is there a way to turn cell services off completely?

Thank you ! I would've thought of that before, but I'm used to my iPod touch, which disables Wifi with Airplane Mode.
