Hi,

I have the 4s under 5.0.1. Whenever I get an email the screen automatically shows on, shows the message, and won't turn off, especially if plugged to power source. I have to manually turn off the screen after receiving an email.

Don't remember earlier versions doing this or maybe I changed a setting. How do you set email/messages to just make phone vibrate/tone without turning on screen. Thanks.

In the notification settings I have mail set to not show in lock screen. This makes the phone vibrate and ring when I get new mail but the screen remains off. Messages is set to view in lock screen but the screen only turns on for a bit then turns off. Both are set to Banner alert style and Show Preview in On.

Thanks. That worked.
