Hi
So I’m not the biggest fan of Live Photo’s. I don’t hate it but truthfully I only seek taking a Live Photo about 5 photos a year I’d guess. Mainly when taking a photo of my baby niece.

Anyhow, whenever I open the Camera app, whether from the app icon on the home screen or swiping left from the lock screen, the Live Photo button is ALWAYS yellow ready for me to take a Live Photo and I don’t want any Live Photo’s. I just want to take regular pictures.

I’m attaching a photo of my camera settings but even so the Live Photo icon within the camera app is always yellow indicating it’s ready to take a Live Photo.

In the "Preserve Settings" menu in the Camera settings that you've included a screenshot of, you want to have Live Photo turned on. I know it's confusing, but by turning that switch on, you're telling the iPhone that "yes, I want to preserve the settings for Live Photos when I alter it". Once you go into the camera app and turn Live Photo off, it should now remain off until you choose to switch back manually.
