Hi,

I use a projector running from my iMac via a HDMI adapter and cable to watch films. I'd like to be able to turn the iMac's main display off when the projector is running but I haven't been able to figure out a way. Anyone know how I can do this? I've only recently got the iMac and used to use a 2008 MacBook. With that I could just turn the display off using the display brightness keyboard keys where the lowest setting was off, but on the iMac, the lowest brightness setting is still on.

Thanks,

J

So answering my own question from another thread... https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...in-display-when-using-plex-on-the-tv.1927026/
It has been suggested that using 'ctrl option eject' will turn off the screen. Haven't tried it yet.
Also I have tried using F.lux's 'dark room' setting to really dim the screen.
