How to turn off update Badge on Settings App?

Hi, How Do I Turn Off Update Badge on Settings App?
It wants me to update to 7.1.2 but I've heard it gives you terrible battery life, so is there anyway to turn this off?

The only way to remove it is to update to the latest version of iOS.

What version of iOS are you running? If it's after 7.1 you can apparently delete the download from Settings > Usage > iOS 7.1.2 > Delete Update

Doesn't seem like there is some sort of a general/widespread/significant battery issue with iOS 7.1.2 either.

Correct, you can delete the update if it was downloaded but you cannot delete the badge.
Unless you JB your iphone the only other way to remove it is to update to the latest version of iOS.
