How to uninstall & Reinstall Itunes - newbie?

I am not an expert with apple & Itunes so thought somebody could help on this one. I believe my Itunes/music directories all over the place, so I was wondering if I uninstall & start again i could straighten it out. Bearing in my mind I don,t want to loose me music in Itunes and settings. Thanks
