Hi all,

I recently moved from the US to Canada and I would like to unlock my AT&T Iphone 3gs (that has ios 5.0) to work on the carriers here. I understand I may need to downgrade my os, but am having a tough time trying to figure out exactly how to unlock this phone without compromising anything.

What's the easiest way to unlock the phone so i can just use it on another carrier?

Thanks!

Currently, if your baseband is newer than 05.13.04 (which it should be as it's updated to 5.0), then your only option is to upgrade to iPad baseband, which renders the GPS useless and renders the iPhone unrestorable except by CFW.

There are tons of guides from iClarified explaining how to do so, but it's a risk as it 'could' brick your phone too.
