if you are jailbroken you can add blackra1n.com to cydia's sources and then install blacksn0w.

if your not jailbroken, download redsn0w, point it at your 3.1.2 ipsw file then follow on screen instructions and add source as pointed out above

yeh which is why I said to install blacksn0w if they are jailbroken if not jailbreak then install blacksn0w
