Ok,

so now that the dust has settled. I`m heading overseas and need to use the iphone on a pre paid sim. I have installed redsnow and the http link in cydia. Is this all I need to use a pre paid card now? Do I just put it in and done?

Opps Ultrasnow...

Or am I missing something else to be done?

go into cydia and install ultrasn0w, it will unlock any baseband for the iPhone 3G, so you should be set! Just let it install and do its thing and it will ask to reboot and once you do that any GSM sim should work.
