How to unlock TM files for a new user?

I can't seem to find an answer for this.
I had to create a new user on my current Macbook. Somehow the old one started screwing up after I installed Lion. I took it to an Apple Store and that was the solution. But he told me to transfer certain files from the old User through the external drive I'm using as my Time Capsule.
Anyway, I need to transfer files between Users. How to I do that through TM? The files I want to transfer are locked and I can't seem to find out how to unlock them!

If by locked do mean you don't have sufficent privileges for the files involved? Perhaps you need to repair privileges, if the "screwed up" account corrupted them.

Are you logged in with an admin account? If you are and no luck, you could try logging in as root user to copy them. Just make sure you log out from root afterwards.
