Did you mean Mac OS X or iOS?

If it is the former, see the links already provided.
If it is the latter, no way.

I'm going to assume you are talking about OSX and not iOS as Spinnerlys pointed out. I've had good experiences with:

Stuffit - low cost
Springy - low cost
Zipeg - free

I primarily use Springy, but every now and then it will hiccup on a file and in those instances Zipeg usually has no trouble with it.

I apologise! The original post was indeed talking about iOS however I skimread it and assumed that the OP was talking about OS X. I then made matters worse by moving the thread into the Mac Basics forum. Sorry about all the confusion!

Thanks for clarifying that.

But as far as I know, there is no way of unpacking archives (.zip, .rar, ...) on iOS devices, or is it possible with a jail-broken one?

Thank you for your reply.

Thanks again.

If that question is aimed at me then you need to look at the links I posted. There is source code that you can use to add to your software that will unrar rar files. I'm not sure what more than that I can say unless you give more details about what you want to do.

I'm not an expert on rar files. I just looked on the internet for those sources.
