how to update iphone 3g 2.1 to 2.2.. without updating to 2.2.1

hey guys i have unlocked and jailbreaked iphone 3g 2.1 with turbo gevey sim. now i want to update it to 2.1 and want to soft unlock it by yellowsn0w.. but i know if i click update in itunes it will update to 2.2.1 which not unlockable for now... so pls help how do i update to 2.2 and 1 more quest if i update it to 2.2 then will i loose my contacts and application... do u know any way to keep it after updating to 2.2..

If you have a mac, you should use pwnage tool, and that will let you update to 2.2.1 without the baseband update and still run yellowsn0w. Or if you have windows you can search on google for a pwned 2.2.1 firmware without the baseband update, download that, and option-restore in itunes to that 2.2.1 custom file. :D
 
one last question, while doing the update thing in itunes should i take out the gevey turbo sim and my t-mobile sim card?? or i can leave it in iphone?? pls help
