Hi all.

I'm on holiday so the internet connection on my MBP is via a tethered iPhone.

When I take a picture on my phone it uploads to iCloud but when I open Photos on my Mac it says it was last updated on Sunday (the last day I was on wifi at home).

I can't see any button to press to get Photos to update.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Many thanks.

M.

It’s automatic if your laptop is on charge and is connected to WiFi.

Ah that’s interesting. Have you tried a restart of your Mac? I’ve found that to kick off stuck processes.

Yeah I've tried that a few times. Photos even says 'updating...' for a while but stops and just says 'last updated on Sunday'.

It may be due to the fact that macOS can detect whether or not it is tethered to an iPhone, and it could simply refuse to update and sync photos when it thinks it is.

Any way to override this so that it updates? It works fine on the iPhone and iPad but not on the Mac.
