iPhone XR How to update/reset firmware

Hello, I read on the internet that updating/resetting firmware could improve battery life so was wondering how is that done in a proper way? Thanks

Sorry, I see that you posted under iPhone xR. I missed it.

If you go to Settings > General > Software Update, is there an available update?
If not, you can go to Settings > General > Erase all content and settings to reinstall the latest iOS version and restore your phone from a backup or set up as new.
