How to upgrade 3G to 3.0.1

I have an iPhone currently on 2.2.1.

I don't want to upgrade to v3.1 as offered in iTunes.

Could anyone please advise how to upgrade to 3.0.0 or 3.0.1?

Get 3.0.1 here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750

Make sure you get the file called "3.0.1 (3G): iPhone1,2_3.0.1_7A400_Restore.ipsw"

In iTunes, hold down option (mac) or shift (windows) while clicking the restore button, and you'll get an explorer window where you navigate to the downloaded file.
