I have a Mac computer that was set up with windows running through Boot Camp several years ago, and I’m hoping to upgrade it now. It has Windows 7 and El Capitan. I iMagine what I probably need to do is upgrade the Mac OS first, then upgrade windows to windows 10. Can anyone confirm the process for doing that upgrade and let me know if there are any interesting pitfalls I should look out for? Thank you so much!

just upgrade Windows if you want Windows 10. what macOS disk(s), or any other OS disk(s) at that matter, are in your Mac have nothing to do with being able to run Windows. you can run Windows exclusively if you wanted for example and have no disks in your Mac that run macOS

I don’t know why I was under the impression that there were some compatibility issues between what version of the MacOS you have and what version of Windows you had.

I went ahead and upgraded the Mac first, then windows. As you would have predicted, there was no issue.
