My girlfriend has an older white MacBook.

She's running 10.4... and needs to get to 10.5 so she can use it with her new iPhone4. I can't upgrade her to 10.6 as she only has a half gig of ram.

How does one go about doing this?

Can it be downloaded and burned from Apple.com? I came up empty on a search. Can it be purchased at an Apple store, if so how much?

Thank you!

Apple do not sell downloadable OS products (any).

Apple no longer sell 10.5: they only sell the current OS (10.6).

Your best option is eBay.

You could get Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard for 29 USD and also get 2GB RAM for her MacBook and would still pay less than for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard alone.

Btw, 512MB RAM is the minimum for Leopard. If you go the Leopard router, consider upgrading it, as Leopard likes RAM and 512MB will be filled with OS data fast. Btw, I have three system process in SL that take up 480MB RAM, and I can't close them as they are needed.
