Here's the plan, please tell me if this is possible.

Unbox new MacBook pro
Turn her over and get inside her
Remove hdd and ram
Upgrade hdd and ram
Boot and put recovery disc in
Hard shutdown
Boot and hold 'c'
Install OS x onto new hdd

Hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance.

That will work, though you can use the OPTION key right after the startup sound and then insert the DVD and then wait for it and then select the DVD to boot from. That saves you one shutdown.

I'm sorry but please never say "get inside" and "her" in the same sentence unless its you and your buddy's drinking a couple of beers on guys night out. :D:D:D

Haha, never! Speaking of which I need to think of a name for my new laptop. Last one was called Jessica. Any ideas? :)

Thanks for the help though guys, really appreciate it.
