Dear all
I have researched in google etc, and saw youtube videos but the answer isn't what I want.

My question is, how do you upgrade the iOS when you jailbroken your iPhone.
I currently have 4.3.2, and I want to upgrade it to 4.3.3.

I do not want to erase my phone, then upgrade to 4.3.3, then jailbreak it, and restore it. It takes too long.
Are there any other methods?

Thanks in advance.

Do you need to save the baseband = possible software unlock?

If no, put the phone into DFU mode, restore through iTunes to 4.3.3, and then, JB with Redsnow.

nope
my phone is factory unlocked by default.

oh, so every time I "restore" to 4.3.3, it breaks all my jailbreak stuff?

i need to upgrade too, if i do the following:

backup before upgrading in itunes.

upgrade in itunes, losing jailbreak.

jailbreak the new firmware.

restore earlier backup from itunes on new jailbroken firmware?
(here: will it restore my non-cydia apps and settings, msgs, pictures, videos, music, layout, etc...? i know it wont restore cydia apps, but i don't care about that as i only have 3-4 anyway!)

Thanks guys, sorry to hijack thread

Yes, it's been this way for years, so it's a bit surprising you didn't uncover this in your research.

sorry I did know that.
what I meant was the jailbreak files hidden in the iphone's directory (such as all these folders to install themes on using ifile)

This is different than your original statement of 'oh, so every time I "restore" to 4.3.3, it breaks all my jailbreak stuff'.

If you do not set your phone up as new, some of these files remain, but none of the jb apps do.

Here's my reccomended method, it has worked in the past (4.2.1 > 4.3.2)

backup in itunes
write down names of all JB apps
upgrade/restore to desired FW
jailbreak using appropriate method (redsn0w, etc)
install your desired jailbreak tweaks/apps
restore the backup in itunes (right click, restore from backup)

lol, thanks for your answer
No need to be grumpy :D
