I don't want to see the orange airplane icon when I'm using the Airplane mode. How can I hide the icon when I'm using the airplane mode ?

It's a smart watch that's designed to have little icons like the plane to denote a mode or what they call a complication. If you want simplicity of a watch face, you need to go to a mechanical, analog type watch.

Some people complain to complain they have absolutely no reason behind it. clearly the OP has been around long enough to know it can't be done. They obvious have an iPhone and know full well icons of this nature can not be hidden.

and all this with or without a crystal ball ? :D

Then why wear a smartwatch?

Cuz I like it. It has some Appleish in it. I also want to track my activity throughout the day and to check the time. I like the fashionish.. I like the combination of the old school (stainless steel) and the modern (the rest of it). I like the pulse part. It's useful.

But, I couldnt care less about the notifications and all the rest... so I wear it always ("always" means from 2-3 days, when I got it) with Airplane mode set to ON, and I don't like how this ruins the nice, clean face of the watch-part.

Of course, another reason for Airplane ON is battery life... with the first full charge, I am near the end of the third day without charging it again. My battery now is 26% and with ease will survive even tomorrow.. :D

Please explain exactly what is involved in "...some serious fiddlin".
Google 'Charlie Daniels.' ;)

Joking aside, you'd probably have to jailbreak the OS, which probably isn't gonna happen. I second the 'sticker' solution mentioned above. Edit: Or manipulating settings / watchfaces. I don't have a :apple:Watch, so I'm not quite sure what's possible.

If it's the notifications you don't want, why not just turn those off?

This ^^^^

My list of disabled notifications is longer than a list of the enabled ones. I've only got four chunks of things popping up on my watch: VIP emails, texts (thankfully I don't have friends who live and die by text conversations), my favorite sports teams' scores (only two in season right now), and the native Activity/Breathe apps. None of my other apps get the privilege of popping up on my watch's screen.

If I wanted zero notifications, it'd take me less than a couple minutes to turn these off. I'd retain the benefits of having the watch connected to the phone (initiating texts and calls, asking for directions, etc) and have a clean watch face.

I see your point. But it's never been an issue for me. There is no definitive way to turn it off.
