What app do you have in mind? You might want to check YouTube for basic tutorials. I'm sure there are plenty to choose from.

Many apps have settings within the app. Look for something that looks like a gear or possibly 3 horizontal lines. You will usually find these in one of the corners, most likely in the upper left corner.
