I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 4.2.1 and bought the Mywi app.

I wanted to connect my blackberry to it so I could share the faster network speed, but when I search for a wifi network, it says cannot be found, my laptop finds it but it is unable to connect. I tried with and without password, the same problem.

However it connects perfectly with my ipod touch.

Should I upgrade to 4.3 to get hotspot compatible with non-iDevices? Or Am I doing something wrong?

Yes, you might need to update to something like 4.3.3 so you can use the true wifi hotspot instead of the adhoc wifi that mywi created before. Some devices couldnt connect to it.
