well how long after you got your airpods did it show up on Find My or even update its firmware? I got mine 3 days ago 9/26 and I'm writing this on 9/29. Airpods brand new come with 5A374 firmware and 5A377 is the first update. Obviously no idea of when to update as you simply charge your airpods and have your phone nearby. But of course I have no idea if that affects the airpods not showing on Find My and my phone is still on the latest IOS 15 as I'm not ready for 16 just yet. Honestly maybe another week and then going to the store if they have anything else to do or just use my Applecare sooner if it is really the Airpods that are malfunctioned.Just wait an it will most likely fix itself. As I did.
FWIW - I decided to be too lazy to forget/reset/re-add and just tried doing step 2 and it worked. To recap, I only had to do step 2... disable and re-enable Find My on my iPhone. After doing that, my Airpods Pro 2 magically appeared correctly in the Find My app.Hi all, I had the same issue, AirPods Pro 2 was not showing in Find My app no matter what I did, but I think found a fix. At least it worked for me.
- Remove AirPods Pro 2 from your device. Settings -> Bluetooth -> Forget this device.
- Disable and then enable Find My on your iPhone. Settings -> Apple ID -> Find My -> Find My iPhone.
- Reset your AirPods Pro 2 to factory settings. With the lid open, press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 30 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.*
- Connect to your AirPods Pro 2 from Bluetooth settings.
- Your AirPods Pro 2 should now be visible in Find My app.
Hey apparently this worked but I did something else. So the method you posted of all the steps I did multiple times with no luck and it got frustrating. After debating, I finally decided to upgrade my iPhone to IOS 16 which I of course knew of some issues especially battery usage. Obviously they'll fix it down the line but upgrading and then turning off and on Find My, the airpods were able to show. Now I think its clear IOS 16 was probably what did it because for the newer airpods, they had certain features like the sound of the case beeping which was a new IOS 16 feature.FWIW - I decided to be too lazy to forget/reset/re-add and just tried doing step 2 and it worked. That's exactly what I needed to know!Hey apparently this worked but I did something else. So the method you posted of all the steps I did multiple times with no luck and it got frustrating. Hey nice to hear! Yeah it was your post in the first place that really got me into fixing this. You and I had the same problems but I can't believe the IOS was the solution. So mainly some graphics changes to the lockscreen and other things looking new but as for battery as long as you don't do much the battery will last but heavy usage it drops a little more so turn on battery saver. But its apple so they'll release more updates to fix stuff. Glad my pods show and now can play the sound. That's exactly what I needed to know!
BTW, How is your battery life on iOS 16 now?

Having similar strange issues with my AirPods Pro 2nd Gen £250. I can go on the 'find my app' on my iPhone and Watch it shows the location no problem but if I go on the same app on my iPad, iPod touch, MacBook Pro & even signing into iCloud.com they don't show up!!! Basically if I lose my phone and AirPods then I have no way of tracking them.Glad to know I'm not the only one! Tried all these methods and Apple Support repeating the same thing of turning off/on Find My and deleting and then resetting and reconnecting airpods. Same thing with firmware stuck on 5A374 and me sticking with IOS 15.7 as I've heard of battery issues to the iphone on IOS 16. It stinks that AIrpods firmware can't be easy to upgrade like every other device. I have to assume the Airpods firmware is the first culprit because apple support said that might be needed first but who knows until it updates on its own. Literally is a waiting game unless my brand new airpods are malfunctioned and I got to use my Applecare so soon if I decide to visit the Apple Store.
this feature is VERY UNRELIABLE.My AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) don't show in FindMy, and that's even after resetting / unpairing them and updating the firmware to the newest version. I've tried restarting the iPhone, and also logging in on iCloud.com but there's nothing there either. Turning off the FindMy network and turning it back on doesn't work, so I'm at a loss. I'm running iOS 16.0.1 so I assume that can't be an issue either.
I think others on the forum are also having this issue though it's not happening to everyone. I just hope I don't lose them in the meantime.
