How to use video content in Keynote?

Just added an iPad 4 mini to the collection and trying to create a presentation in Keynote that uses video content (I created) that is stored on the iPad itself. I was on apple care support for a while today and they said it can't be done. I do it all the time on my mbp but don't have much experience with IOS9. Suggestions?
