How to verify/tell iPhone 4 AT&T is unlocked

AT&T could not find my IMEI # so I had to call. Rep said it was done over the phone, email sent and all I had to do was sync with iTunes. Never got email so don't now the full procedures but just synced with iTunes. Now how can I tell if it's unlocked so I can sale as unlocked?

After restoring via iTunes you should get a message saying "congratulations, you iPhone is now unlocked."

Yes. An AT&T (factory) unlock remains no matter if you restore/update.

Didn't get any message, but all I did was sync (that is what the rep said). Do you have to restore before it unlocks? If so that is a few days away for me (up to Oct 5). Will this still unlock then or do I have to call AT&T again?

Yes, you have to restore the phone before it unlocks. You shouldnt have to call again, you can restore it anytime.

Thanks, wish I could restore tomorrow but....may have to stalk a couple of Apple stores (and maybe even some AT&Ts) this weekend.
