want to view contents of ssd's how can I do that? and the they cloned, but info say not bootable..therefor no good to me as a system bootup source- thank Once I spend several hours trying to find stuff that should be easy and apparent I find it best to come here and ask- thank you

For a cloned bootable backup, try SuperDuper.
Download it by clicking this link --> download

SD is free (for this job) and it's VERY easy to understand and use.

Connect the SSD to the Mac.
Open SuperDuper.
Follow the instructions (again, EASY).

SD will first erase the drive, and then clone it and try to make it bootable.
This works with Monterey.
I'm not sure if it will work with Ventura yet.

But give it a try.
As I said, it's free.

If it doesn't work, just erase the SSD.
(it will still be a clone, just not bootable, if you want to keep it)

thank you ...does it not seem like apple should have a way to do that!! I will bet they do and it is very complicated and unreliable - they get worse from a user standpoint imo as time goes on.. thanks I have it .....

"I need it to be bootable. that is my dilemma now"

Why don't you just TRY what I suggested above...?
