how to you access icloud (idisk) from mac?

im trying to transfer a bunch of pics from my mac to my iphone without syncing.. cant i just drop these pictures onto icloud (idisk) somehow? going out of my mind!

Icloud photo stream isn't available yet. if you still have Mobile Me you can put your photos in there.
