How to zip files?

I have a big file trying to send out by using email. I wondered what is the best way to compress the file? Thanks a lot.

All you have to do is right- or control-click a file or folder, and click "Create Archive Of..." in the contextual menu

further, you can make a zip of multiple files. select all the files you want zipped, right-click/control-click and then create archive.
