How well is Tiger selling?

I participate in the Apple stock message board on Yahoo. There is a member who tracks Apple Web Store sales by order number since Apple uses sequential numbers. We need some help!

Can you please post your Apple web order # for Tiger as follows: (you can x out the last 3 digits)

Order # (W12345xxx)
Date and time ordered.

Would also love other order numbers if you have them, same format.

Please specify what ordered.

Thanks for your help.
 
How does this map to Tiger sales. Even if this is a correct way to calculate sales, isn't it a reflection of the number of orders of anything the Apple store sells, and not specifically of Tiger?
 
Not a great way of tracking sales. Tiger may well prove to be something people want to buy in the stores (Resellers, Apple Stores, department stores etc..) as they have the chance to play before they buy. Also with places like Amazon doing rebates and surely a host of other online stores selling it, there's no easy way to visualise overall Tiger sales based on what the Online Apple store is selling.
 
We track Apple Web sales as ONE indication of how they are doing.

While we can't specifically track Tiger sales, we know the averages for daily sales and we are interested in the spikes caused by the Tiger announcement.

It would be about as accurate to look at the current poll.

Granted this is a Mac-centric forum, but right now only 6% are not planning to upgrade and about 27% unsure. That's a 67% adoption rate here. Assume that in general the rate is closer to 25% or 30%. Steve claimed something like 12 million OS X users to date. That would mean roughly 3-4 million Tiger's sold. GROWL!

Sweet. Apple upgraded shipping to 2 day shipping. Should ship then the 27th or before even! :cool:
