How well will the i5 MBPs handle games?

Hey,

Basically, later this year I am purchasing a new MBP, but as many people on here are I am not sure which model to go for. On the laptop, I will like to play MW2 or GTA4 for a couple of hours in the evening, would the 2.4Ghz handle the games ok? Also, I am hoping to have to computer for about 4 years, is it worth spending the extra bit for an i7?

It plays them both okay at medium settings (30-40FPS)

Ok great, also this might be a dumb question but, is there any advantage apart from extra Ghz on the i7 as opposed to an i5?

The difference is unnoticeable in games, maybe a frame or two

The video card in the i7 mbp also comes with an extra 256 mb of vram but any boosts from this extra memory would be very situational. Again, the difference in gaming would be negligible at best.

If it handles GTA IV fine, it should handle AC2 without any issues

youtube core i5 gaming, and you will see that it can handle games like MW2, l4d and other games perfectly.
