I’ve been researching how common the dust under lens issue is for the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro, and it seems to be a fairly talked-about problem with these models.
From what I’ve gathered, Apple changed the assembly process for these phones. The back glass is the last part to be glued on, meaning the camera lenses are exposed and facing upwards throughout most of the assembly. Since these phones aren’t assembled in full clean rooms, it makes me wonder how Apple prevents dust from getting between the lens and the camera sensor.
I’ve been using my iPhone 11 Pro Max for a "few" years, but I’m considering upgrading to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Back in 2019, my first 11 Pro Max had dust under the lens, which sparked my research into this issue.
Has anyone else experienced this dust issue on the 15 or 16 Pro? And what do you think about how Apple might address it with the new 17 Pro Max?
