Current iPhones have a sandwich design, and bands are used in order to split the frame in different areas, so that antennas can correctly work.

Based on rumors and renders, the iPhone 17 Pro will get rid of that sandwich design, and there will be continuity between the frame and back.

Not sure if this has been discussed/noticed before, but I’m curious about how antennas will be then solved. The obvious solution is a band on top, like on the iPhone 6/7 or iPads (and maybe to extend the bands on the bottom, so that they reach the glass area), but that’s a big change compared to what we’ve seen on renders so far.

Very quick mockup of what I mean
