There's been some debate on whether Apple will charge us for the apps or leave it up to the developers. What do you think?

Also would you just stay with a jailbroken iPod touch if they do charge?

im pretty shure this has been covered in appls SDK summery....
Where, i cant seam to find...

yes, it will be through itunes. much like the podcasts/videos/music section. . .there will be a new apps section

My guess is that they will be distributed exclusively through iTunes, and that the price will be up to the developer. But I also guess that Apple may either require a "listing fee" or will tack on a percentage (after all, Apple has to get its cut) so it is unclear as to if we will ever see "free" applications.

Well, There is a folder within the itunes folder that says Mobile Applications (If you have the January Software Upgrade) and I think that Apple may give you links to sites that have the Apps and then have you put it in that folder. The links I think may be similar to the apple.com/webapps layout..

And IDK about the buying apps thing.....thinking that most people like Jailbreak makers will have the SDK then distribute the apps on their site.

Just an Idea to put in your heads:p

I believe they will leave it up to the developers. However, I could see them charging to download any apps that are made by apple themselves, which will also most likely be the best apps.

Urg,
Im pretty sure i have the best idea of whats going to happen...

1)Apples going to "approve apps" which means hell to the no with summerboard and NES emulators and other stuff like that that makes  mad

2) Apples going to rake money in and make sure you have to pay for apps trough iTunes

3) Make the SDK only for apple users and beta for everyone else.......which means no putting good things like the apps from jailbreak...

SO.
I suggest jailbreaking and then see if the SDK is worth it and if  stops money pounding everyone........thats all I have to say...peace:eek:
